How We Choose
The reasoning behind every recommendation.
We start with a situation: a crowded desk, a shared apartment, a daily commute. Then we identify the constraints that make a purchase succeed or fail in that setting.
1. Define the job
Our guides describe a reader need, available space, compatibility requirements and likely ongoing costs. We favor practical outcomes over abstract rankings.
2. Research primary information
We consult manufacturer product pages, support documents and relevant standards information. Sources appear at the end of every guide. A publication date records when the guide was prepared; it is not a live inventory or price guarantee.
3. Explain the tradeoffs
We compare product types by scenario. A compact option may lose ports; a connected device may add an account or subscription. We explain these compromises without inventing numerical scores, performance measurements or owner experiences.
4. Be clear about testing
The guides currently published on RealPickLab are based on research, not hands-on tests. We do not claim to have measured battery life, microphone quality, cleaning performance or reliability. If we publish hands-on work in the future, the specific equipment, conditions and limitations will be stated in that article.
5. Keep commerce transparent
Our current buying links lead to official manufacturer pages without affiliate tracking. Future commission-bearing links will be identified and disclosed. Payments do not buy a favorable conclusion. We do not publish paid rankings disguised as independent advice.
